If you know nothing about the buying process ,what is a good place to start ?? I have no kids but want to Move my parents in with me and there is a house I have been eyeing on zillow ,3br2b in DFW area . Beside my rent ,I have no debt and my credit score is above 780 (according to chase amd wells fargo at least 😬) . I moved to US 10 years ago and no one in my family own a house ,we are all renters , so I have no one to ask . Do I start with a lender ?or a GOOD real estate agent ?? According to Chat gpt ,I should start with a lender!!

I'd start with budgeting first. Look at homes you want, find out how much it would cost.

Not just the monthly payment, but figure out how much you'd be spending in down payment and closing costs too.

I have this guide that has 12 steps, and getting a lender or agent isn't until step 7 and 8.
